Donald Joseph Ansfield's Obituary
Donald Joseph Ansfield, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on November 12, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI, the first son of Esther (Katz) and Maurice J. Ansfield, M.D. He was a longtime resident of Louisville, KY, but moved to Fort Myers recently following the death of his wife, Georgia (Marr). Don is survived by his brothers, Dr. Thomas J. Ansfield (Lynn) of Middleton, WI, and Dr. James J. Ansfield (Joni) of Mequon, WI, and nieces Mara and Elizabeth, and nephews Matthew, Jonathan and Benjamin. He will be missed by longtime friends Dennis Nourse, Jere Meyers and Joan Sands-Ring. Don graduated from Whitefish Bay High School, where he excelled as a competitive swimmer and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He spent his entire career acting as a technical adviser and agent for installation of commercial metal buildings. He and Georgia shared a love of golf and automobile racing, volunteering at both the Indy 500 and Elkhart Lake, WI. Don had a very kind heart and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. At don’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
