Donald "Butch" Hughes' Obituary
Donald (Butch) Hughes, 84, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1977, formerly of Maryland passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 surrounded by his family at home. He was borr August 19, 1938 in Oxon HIlI, MD to the late Albert and Dorothy (Gates) Hughes. Donald, a master electrician since the age of 18, enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards, yahtzee and the board game marbles of which he handmade for many family members. He was preceded in death by his two children, John Scouloukas and Connie Cunningham.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Dee Hughes of Cape Coral, FL; two children, Debbie Smith (Harry) of Venice, FL and Felia Maynard (Hank) of North Fort Myers, FL; one brother, Tommy Hughes of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Brie, Nicole, Maris, Rachel, and Sean; as well as seven great grandchildren, Brayden, Landon, Brooklyn, Marley, Nathan, Reef, and Mackenzie. AMemorial Service wil be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cape Alliance Church, 4307 Skyline Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33914. A reception will follow the service in the Church Hall.
