Donald Bruce Jackson's Obituary
Donald Bruce Jackson, 61, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL since 2008, formerly of Cedar Lake, IN passed away suddenly from a short battle with cancer Friday, May 29, 2020 at his residence. He was born on December 1, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Christine “Tina” Jackson; adored daughter, Sarah Louise Jackson (Andrew Boyce) of North Fort Myers, FL; one cherished grandchild, Otto Drew Jackson-Boyce; his beloved mother, Beverley Jackson of Fort Myers, FL: his precious sister, Patricia Schick (David) of St. John, IN. As well as 11 loved sister in-laws, 2 brothers-in-law, and their spouses; as well as many extended loving family members and friends. Don was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Jackson; brother, Robert “Bobby” Jackson; as well as his brother-in-law, Thomas Foreman and wife Linda.
A graduate of Hanover Central High School in Cedar Lake, IN where Don worked as an auto mechanic at Condron’s Auto, Nagy’s and later owned and operated Jackson’s Auto Service. Since moving to Florida, Don has worked at Gulf Coast Auto Repair. He enjoyed working on old motorcycles and traveling cross country on his Harley Davidson with his wife and many friends. He enjoyed attending many Nascar races and other motorcycle events. He was an active member of American Legion Post 261 and Post 336, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, and Antique Motorcycle Club. He loved watching and playing with his grandson on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Don also enjoyed playing ball with his energic, loving dog Onyx.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 13, 2020 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 13031 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33905.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Project Love Food Panty in Cedar Lake, IN or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Food Pantry Fort Myers, FL.
