Donald Arthur McTighe's Obituary
Donald Arthur McTighe, 97, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014. He was born September 25, 1916 in Brooklyn, New York. He had lived in the Ft. Myers area since 1973, moving here from Sea Girt, New Jersey where he retired from NCR Corporation after a long and successful sales management career with the company. He was raised in West Trenton, New Jersey and graduated from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He traveled extensively for NCR and resided in many parts of the country including Manasquan, New Jersey; Binghamton, New York; Portland, Maine and Kettering, Ohio. He was a 32nd degree mason and was active in several organizations including the Araba Shrine Temple of Fort Myers, the Scottish Rite Consistory -Valley of Fort Myers, the Blue Lodge in Wall, New Jersey and the Fort Myers Beach Shrine Club. He had also actively served as the secretary / treasurer at St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church of Fort Myers Beach. Don was preceded in death by his wife Wilma (1973). He is survived by his three children, Donald “Skip” McTighe and his wife Anita of Punta Gorda, FL, David W. McTighe of Cape Coral, FL, and his daughter, Margo F. Blackwell of Bloomington, IN; 3 grandchildren, Scott McTighe, Chris McTighe and Patrick McTighe; 3 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Private burial and a family service will be held at a later date at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. The family requests that memorials be made to your favorite personal charity.
