Donald Charles Rush's Obituary
Donald Charles Rush of Fort Myers, Florida passed away suddenly, but peacefully, following some recent health challenges on Monday, July 10, 2017. He was 90 years old.Donald was born on March 21, 1927 in Lintner, Illinois, the proud son of Etta Florence (Cripe) and Marion Clifford Rush. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served in the European Theatre during World War II and later during the Korean War. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and spent his working life in the field of highway construction as a Civil Engineer. Donald was a Lifetime member of the American Legion and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks as well as a proud member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church. He leaves behind his daughters Patricia and Nancy, 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandson, 2 brothers Lee Roger Rush (Florence) and James Rush (Judy), a number of extended family members and a multitude of people who were proud to call him a friend. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce Sylvia (Houck) Rush who passed in 1973 and his second wife Julia (Furu) Rush who passed away in 2005.A Memorial Service for Donald will be celebrated on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at a time to be determined (please check with a family member or back here for further information which will be posted as soon as the time is finalized) inside the sanctuary at Saint Michael Lutheran Church, 3595 Broadway Street, Fort Myers, Florida 33901, (239) 939-1218.
