Donald Scott's Obituary
Donald Scott, Jr. of Fort Myers died May 28, 2015. He was a remarkable, loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather and a man of great principles. Donald was born on June 20, 1922 in Evanston, IL to the late Donald and Rachel Scott of Short Hills, NJ. He graduated from St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH and Princeton University. He served three years in the U.S. Navy during World War II with duty on amphibious ships in the Mediterranean and as Commanding Officer of a rocket ship with the rank of Lieutenant. He received a MBA degree from New York University and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. Joining the Chase Manhattan Bank, he was associated with the petroleum industry finance and corporate staff as Vice President and Director of Organization Planning. Later he joined Argyle Research Corporation, a New York consulting firm specializing in corporate mergers and acquisitions. After his retirement, he moved to Sanibel Island, FL in 1983. At the time of his death he resided in Fort Myers. He is survived by his loving wife, Florence; three children, David (Gail) Scott of Boulder, CO, Hillary Stern of Greensboro, NC, Lindsay (James) Waters of Chapel Hill, NC; four grandchildren,; one stepson Philip C. Ruesch of Fort Lauderdale, FL and two nieces. Preceding in death are his daughter Caroline Hamilton; stepson Daniel B. Ruesch; and sister Dorothy Williams.
