Doreen Aklimia Sookdeo, 73, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 2005, formerly of New York passed away Monday, July 10, 2023 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born April 28, 1950 in Guyana to the late Basil and Bakridan (nee Khan) Odie.
Doreen is survived by her three loving children, Romeo Sookdeo (Nathalie Golen) of Sweden, Anil Romel Sookdeo (Sumeena Reshad) of Forest Hills, NY and Sonia Forrest of Bonita Springs, FL; one sister, Stella Odie-Ali of Fort Myers, FL; three brothers, Leslie Odie of New York, Rudolph Odie (Neisha) of New York and Dennis Odie of Maryland; four grandchildren, Amina Forrest, Aaron Forrest, Alija Burnett, Abraheem Burnett; as well as many extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
An inurnment will be held in New York at the family plot.
