Doris E. Potts' Obituary
Doris E. Potts, 91, of Fort Myers, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 29, 2016. She was born March 7, 1925 in Hellertown, PA, the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Weaver) Geyer. Mrs. Potts is survived by her children: Deborah L. Williams (husband, John) of Fort Myers, Gregory D. Potts (wife, Mary Sue) of Cedar Park, TX and Dennis A. Potts (wife, Shelia) of Greenville, SC; her siblings: Charles Geyer (wife, Shirley) of Fort Myers, Richard Geyer of Hellertown, PA, Susan Worthington of Hendersonville, NC and David Worthington (wife, Sandy) of Fort Myers; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert B. Potts in 1985, a World War II veteran, her brother, Edwin Geyer and her great grandson, Daniel Francis Brown in 2007. She was the first woman real estate broker in Bethlehem, PA in the 1960’s. After Doris and Bob moved to Fort Myers in 1968, they developed Huxter’s Market and Deli on Sanibel. Doris was very gifted at restoring homes, one of them being Shore Haven on Sanibel. She blessed her family with many handmade quilts, and spent many enjoyable hours gardening. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2016 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd. with burial to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
