Doris Gloria Peoples Smith's Obituary
It is with deep love and remembrance that we celebrate the life of Doris Gloria (Peoples) Smith, age 91, she passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was one of four children born to Howard and Kathryn Peoples.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Doris cherished her family above all else. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—playing bingo, enjoying card games, and sharing stories with loved ones. Her spirited personality and generous heart made her a beloved presence in her community.
Doris is survived by her 6 Children. Kathleen Fine (Louis Fine), Joseph Smith Jr. (Jane Powell), Margaret Lawler, Donna Richardson (Jim Richardson), Karen Mauthe (John Mauthe), and Kevin Smith Sr. (Nicole Smith). Her 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. We will deeply miss her and fondly remember the joy she brought into their lives.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Doris Gloria Smith on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the Horizon Village Clubhouse, located at 9200 Littleton Rd, North Fort Myers, Florida.
Her laughter, love, and light will echo in our memories and guide us always.
