Doris I. Spielman's Obituary
Doris Idell Spielman of North Fort Myers, FL, passed away suddenly, Friday, May 2, 2014. She was a former employee with General Motors; working in the Human Resources, Labor Relations, Safety and Manufacturing Departments. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Myers and the founding president of the Sigma Phi Gamma sorority, Fort Myers, FL Chapter. She was born in Holly, MI to the late William “Lee” Paddison and Revona Taylor Paddison. At the age of 5, after her mother’s death, Doris was raised by her father William “Lee” Paddison and Ada Elizabeth Biede. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Joseph D. Spielman; her children, Keith Thompson of Cape Coral and Karen Umber of Port Charlotte; stepsons, Matt Spielman and his wife Julie, of Davisburg, MI; Brian Spielman and his wife Rachel, of Farmington, MN; her brother William Lee Paddison, II of MI; stepbrother, Ray Biede of NY; 5 grandchildren, Shaun Morway, Christopher Morway, Danielle Davenport and her husband, Jeremy, Ariel Thompson and Stella Spielman. She is also survived by one great grandson, Broyer Davenport. A celebration of life service will be held 11am, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Myers, FL. A reception will immediately follow the service in Galloway Hall at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the First Presbyterian Church 2438 Second Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901 or the Animal Refuge Center 18011 Old Bayshore Road, N. Ft. Myers, FL 33917.
