Dorothy Aszkenas' Obituary
Dorothy Aszkenas, 96, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1993, formerly of New York passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 under the care of Hope Hospice. She was born June 28, 1926 in New York to the late Samuel and Rebecca (nee Blockowitz) Goldwasser.
Dorothy loved life and one of her favorite hobbies was shopping. She loved crafts and crocheting and was a formidable RummiKub player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Meyer Aszkenas; sister, Beatrice; as well as her brother, Max.
Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter, Ellen Robbins and son in law Michael of Smithtown, NY; two grandchildren, Matthew and Sydney of New York; as well as her very dear friend, Mary Kelly of Fort Myers, FL.
A Graveside service will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, April 28, 2023 in the sacred section of Gan Shalom in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL.
