Dorothy May Carrothers May 17, 1927 – September 22, 2011 ?á Dorothy May Carrothers of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on September 22, 2011.?áShe was born in Chicago, IL on May 17, 1927 to Alrick and Anna (Olsson) Bergman. ?á Dorothy met and married her ?Ç£Navy man?Ç¥ Bill, in Chicago and moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1946.?áShe was very active in her children?ÇÖs school life, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.?áShe retired from the State of Ohio Bureau of Employment Services after 23 years. ?á For many years, Dorothy was a member of Glenwood Lutheran Church in Toledo, Ohio.?áAfter retiring to Fort Myers, Florida in 1988, she became a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church.?áLiving at Royal Woods, she enjoyed swimming, biking and attending the social events.?áShe was an active member of the?áLadies of the Elks in Bonita Springs.?áShe loved the beach and traveling, including special trips to Sweden, Norway, Alaska and Hawaii. ?áShe was also an enthusiastic fan of sports, from little league to major league?Ǫ ?Ç£GO CUBS GO!!!?Ç¥ ?á Surviving are her children, Peggy (Larry) Krontz of Fort Myers, FL, Irene (Edward) Jacobs of Toledo, OH, and Steven (Cheryl) Carrothers of Sylvania, OH; grandchildren, Kevin (Samantha) Krontz, Erik Krontz, Jason Jacobs, Ryan Jacobs, Heather Jacobs, and Erin (Bryan) Foster; great-grandchildren, Casey, Capri and Logan;?áTwin brother, Donald (Ruth) Bergman of Homewood, IL; sister-in-law, Cindy Carrothers of Toledo, OH, and many nieces and nephews. ?á Dorothy was preceded in Death by her husband of 58 years, William ?Ç£Bill?Ç¥ Carrothers, brother-in-law, Ted Carrothers, and infant grandson, Nicholas Todd Carrothers. ?á A private service will be held on September 28, 2011 with interment at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.?áThe family requests memorial contributions be made to Lamb of God Lutheran Church, Fort Myers, Florida or Glenwood Lutheran Church, Toledo, OH.
