Dorothy Elaine Lampitt's Obituary
Dorothy Elaine Lampitt of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Gulf Coast Medical Center following some recent health challenges. She was 98 years old.
Dorothy was born in New York, New York on February 5, 1922, the beautiful daughter to Winifred (Cordeaux) and Henry M. Lampitt. She was a longtime employee of The Home Insurance Company of New York before moving to Southwest Florida.
Dorothy leaves behind her niece, Pamela, four nephews, Scott, Bruce, Craig, and Blair, 12 grandnieces and nephews, and 12 great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her nieces, Sharon Memoli and Donna LeBrie. She was a beloved Aunt and matriarch of the Lampitt clan.
Dorothy discovered her love for quilting later in life and made the most amazing quilts for her family, friends, as well as donating many of them to children and families in need. She was a devoted and active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed many friendships with in her local Fort Myers congregation.
Dorothy will be laid to rest alongside her loving brother Clifford Lampitt and his wife Kathleen inside the Meditation Garden at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, 239-936-0555. This ceremony will be private.
