Dorothy J. McCormick's Obituary
Dorothy Jane Kockentiet McCormick (Dottie) passed away June 21, 2023. Dottie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, September 19, 1925, to Aaron Henry and Ada Mae (Stephan) Kockentiet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Elmes McCormick and son, Jack Kenton McCormick.
Surviving relatives include daughter, Kathy Harney of Bothell, Washington, sister, Merrilyn Shape, and brother, Kenneth Lee Kockentiet.
Dottie worked with her husband Jack, in the home building and real estate development business in Fort Myers from the early 1950s until their retirement in 1995. She was an accomplished seamstress and taught sewing classes and demonstrated sewing machines in Fort Myers and Titusville, Florida.
Dottie was known as Aunt Dot by the children of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Myers, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Memorial services will be held at a future date.
