Dorothy Mae Morris' Obituary
Dorothy Mae Morris passed away peacefully on October 22, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born to the late William Naaman Griffith and Stella Griffith (Akers) on August 28, 1935 in Union City, Tennessee. She had been a Lee County resident since 1992 and was a member of the Gulf Coast Church of Christ. Dorothy spent most of her working life as a nurse, and sewing was one of her all time favorite hobbies.Dorothy is survived by her sons, Steven Bryan Morris of Cape Coral, FL, and William Keith Morris (Regina March) of Warren, MI; her sisters, Janice Albrecht of Bartlett, TN, and Anita Prince (Donald Prince) of Columbra, TN; her grandchildren, Richard Long, Shannan Morris, Deann Morris, Lindsay Mullinax, Cassy Hensley, Ashley Atty, Blake Morris and several great-grandchildren.Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Willie and Stella Griffith; her husband, Jack Ray Morris, whom she was married to for 44 years; her children, Barry Len Morris; her brother Fred Griffith (Nila Griffith, also deceased) of Warren, MI, sister, Cheryl Kennedy of Huntsville, AL; her brother in law, Butch Cutler of Bartlett, TN, and her granddaughter, Heather Yazbek.A visitation for Dorothy will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, October 25th, 2019 in the Large Chapel from 6:00pm-9:00pm. On Saturday, October 26, 2019, there will be a Funeral Service held at Gulf Coast Church of Christ at 11:00am. Services for the day will ultimately conclude at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where Dorothy will be laid to rest.Arrangements for final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
