Dorothy June Vollmer's Obituary
Dorothy June Vollmer of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, June 30, 2016 following some recent health challenges. She was 92 years old.Dorothy was born on May 21, 1924 in Waukegan, Illinois, the beautiful daughter of Naomi (Victor) and Charles Pratt. She spent her working life a Quality Control Inspector for Abbott Laboratories. She was the loving wife to Edward Vollmer who, sadly, preceded her in death in 1980.She leaves to cherish her loving memory her sons William Vollmer (Linda) and Harold Vollmer (Linda); her sister, Georgia Angelle (Jess); her grandchildren Mark Vollmer (Sonya), Shelby Bigler (Corey), Stefanie Vollmer and Brittany Vollmer. She also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren a number of extended family members who will greatly miss her company. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her daughter Diane Becker and grandson J.R. Vollmer.Immediate funeral ceremonies will be private. Arrangements for Dorothy’s final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
