Earl Douglas Ison's Obituary
Earl Douglas Ison, born in Whitesburg, KY, December 14, 1930, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2010.He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis of 58 1/2 years. Survivors also include his son Earl Douglas Ison, Jr. and daughter-in-law Brenda of Lexington, KY, his daughter Valerie Fossett and her husband Jeff of Lexington, KY. He was so blessed with 4 grandchildren, Brooke Stone and husband Wayne, Kelli Tyler and husband John, Ashley Calderon and husband Steven, and Natalie Clark & husband Ryan. He also had 6 great-grandchildren, Jillian and Adam Stone, Jacob and Cooper Tyler, Mason Calderon, and Hudson Clark. He was preceded in death by his mother Garnett and father Hargis Ison.He was a 33 degree Mason and a Shriner. He attended Pikeville College and Marshville University.After selling his business, he retired to Fort Myers and had spent the last 24 years living at Cross Creek Golf and Country Club enjoying golf and working in his Church McGregor Baptist. His hobbies included golf and boating.Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers, on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 5:00pm, with visitation beginning one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers , Florida 33908 .Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, (239)936-0555.
