Ebo William Janssen's Obituary
Ebo William Janssen, “Bill,” of North Fort Myers passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Hope Hospice House on Diplomat Parkway in Cape Coral. He was 92 years old.Bill was born on January 21, 1922 in Velde, Germany, the proud son of Christina (Meyer) and Weert Janssen. He resided in Illinois most of his life and retired to Florida in 1986 with his previously deceased wife Jean. A World War II Veteran in the U.S. Marine Corps , he fought in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart on two separate occasions.He is survived by a son Richard Janssen and wife Judy of Ronan, Montana; daughter Christine Wescott and husband Stanley of Rumford, Rhode Island; daughter Jan DeBlois of North Fort Myers, Florida; stepson John B. Swain and wife Mary Cowdrey of Marshalltown, Iowa; stepdaughter Linda Walenter and husband Ed of Hanover Park, Illinois and stepson Brian Swain and wife Cecelia of Marshalltown, Iowa. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, numerous extended family and countless friends who are saddened by the loss of his company.A Visitation will be conducted from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday, January 12, 2015 in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A Memorial Service will celebrated immediately thereafter also in the chapel, at 1:00 PM, by Pastor Forrest Devore of Grace Baptist Temple.
