Edith May Douglass' Obituary
Edith May Douglass of Cape Coral and formerly of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. She was 92 years old.Edith was born on May 4, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the beautiful daughter of Caroline (Kraft) and Frederick Pattman. She was a graduate of Ben Davis High School and worked in the medical field. Edith moved to Fort Myers in 1963 and became the office manager for a large local physician’s practice. Edith was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Indiana and was more recently a member of Chapter 31 of the Eastern Star here in Fort Myers. She was the devoted wife to Kenneth H. Douglass who sadly preceded her in death in 1967.Edith leaves to cherish her loving memory her son Kenneth Douglass Jr. (Letheda); daughters Sandra McDonald (Henry), Bev Beardsley (David), daughter Carol Lambing (Chuck) and son Fred Douglass; grandchildren Paul McDonald, Pam Wise, Robert Douglass, Scott Douglass, Donnie Lambing, Larry Lambing, Tony Douglass and Angie Kelley. She also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a number of extended family members and many more people who were proud to call her a friend.A Memorial Service for Edith will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2439 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, Florida 33901, (239) 334-8937. Arrangements for Edith’s final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.Edith will be buried alongside her loving husband Kenneth in the Masonic Garden at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in a private ceremony. A Memorial Service open to all who knew and loved her is currently being planned and details will be posted on her memorial website at www.fortmyersmemorial.com as soon as they become available.
