Edith Boross Rigo's Obituary
Edith Rigo (nee Boross), 79, of Fort Myers, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at her home on August 15, 2024, She was 79 years old
.
Edith was born on October 2, 1944 to Arpad Boross and Etelka Baranyai in Gyor, Hungary.
She emigrated from Hungary to the United States in 1965. She married Gyula Rigo and had two sons whom she lovingly raised at home. She attended cosmetology school and in the following years worked in the beauty departments at Bloomingdales and other shops before eventually owning and operating her own beauty salon.
In addition to working and raising her family, Edith was an avid painter. She was particularly partial to watercolors, focusing mostly on nature scenes. She was also an accomplished seamstress and her handy work could be seen in some of the clothing she made for her boys and herself as well as various household items like curtains, tablecloths and blankets.
Edith is survived by her two sons Julius (Katherine) and Attila (Jessica) and her five grandchildren Aidan, Alexa, Julius, Christopher and Alexandra along with her two nieces Eva Sachs (Joseph) and Paula Connor (Todd) and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Hungary. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Eva Ramanuskas.
A Visitation for Edith will be held at the Chapel inside Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555 at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Immediately following, at 12:00 Noon, a Funeral Service will be celebrated by Pastor Bob Lockwood also inside the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of these ceremonies, family and friends will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Edith will be laid to rest.
