I have too many fun memories to write down with my Aunt Edie.
But I will share two:
Since moving to Lehigh, she enjoyed going out to eat on Friday nights... the whole gang would gather at some mutually chosen restaurant. Aunt Edie would say, " I've cooked alot of meals in my life time, I'm more than ready to just go out." As each family member visited, we would be included in any excursion they all took. (Precious, Precious Times)
And the last fun memory I had with her was getting ready for the Family Christmas in early
2020 December.
The front door in my mom's living room swung open and she waltzed in announcing that she could now wear her "Christmas Sweater" from Karen because she had lost 15#!
It blinked and twinkled all over the front as she demonstrated how to turn in off and on.
I guess she got a little perturbed with someone in her house, because as she kept popping in to tell us little tidbits throughout the day someone said, "why do you go over there (Harriet's house) so often?"
She answered promptly,
"Well, A girl's just gotta talk about stuff!"
I chuckled
and knew my time with her was coming to a close.
I treasured her positive heart & held on to that moment with vigor.
It hurts knowing I'll not be seeing her when visiting Lehigh next time, but I can rejoice in The LORD knowing I will be seeing her again.
