Dear Dad,today is a very difficult day for me because I'm used to calling you and wishing you a Happy Fathers Day . Today I just wanted to say Thank You for all the great memories we shared.You were the type of person wherever you were you always made it a better place . Your willingness to always help others and to never boast or brag about it . I learned from my daughter Nicole when she arrived back home after you passed she was telling me that you used to go to the Elementary school and talk to the children at school and then later the children would write letters to you.I just smiled and thought to myself that's my Dad .So Dad it is an honor for me to call you my Father . I will try to carry on our last name with the same dignitiy and respecti in which you did .I know Heaven just got a little better now that you are there with Grampa & Gramma . Well Dad this is a very tough day for me because I'm used to calling you and wishing you a Happy Fathers Day . I just wanted to say Thank u for all the great memories over the years , Dad you were a great guy and no matter where you were you always made it a better place . Always trying to help people . I had another pleasant surprise of this as my daughter Nicole got home after you have passed and I learned how you went to Elementary schools to talk to the children and then the children wrote you letters . I just smiled and thought that was my Dad . Never really boasting or bragging but always doing for others . Well Dad this comes with a very heavy heart today but I just wanted to say I know Heaven became a little better by you being their and being with Grampa & Gramma again . So please Rest in Peace Dad . Brother Ed, what can one blue eyed sibling say to the other when life's journey is over for one of us.( Dennis and Kathy plug your ears) you were always a favorite with mom and dad, and a source of pride to them with your many accomplishments. You were double promoted from 6th to 8th because you were one hell of a bright boy.you played sports as often as you could. You played piano like a pro. You helped mom with Aunt Rose when our aunt was an invalid. Every day you came to the house to carry auntie to bed when she could no longer walk on her own. I guess it sounds like I'm reading that big book the Lord has on all of us, and I know there is so much more good you did in your life cause that's the kind of guy you were.Now it's time for you to rest in peace, you surely deserve it. My little brother, Jimmy Slivka, remembers spending a wonderful day at my Dad and Ginger's house in Florida with Eddie. It was the day of their commencement ceremony. Eddie played the piano at their house during their reception! Jim said that Eddie had learned how to play the piano after he retired! We will all miss his twinkling eyes, big smile & bit heart! Oh Mr. Perri! You made everything and everywhere we went with the Gashouse Gang fun. I can remember sitting down on a comfy lawn chair with a book at a picnic or two and you would come up to me and say, "Mar? What are you doing? Aren't you going to play volleyball or play in the egg toss or anything?" And so I would get up and participate and have a great time. My sister, (Barb Slivka) reminded me that it was you that coordinated all the times that Santa came to visit the bowling alley at Christmas time. I still have a picture of our oldest daughter with Santa at the bowling alley when she was only 5 weeks old. You made everything fun! We miss you and we love you! Love and prayers to Elaine & your family from all the Slivka kids, Love, Mary Terese . . . . say hi to my parents for me!!

Generous and kind with an unparalleled love of life is how I'll remember my big brother. His wit was evident til the day he died and he never failed to make us laugh. I suspect that heaven needed a new Master of Ceremonies but the world is a little dimmer today. Love you Ed
