Eduardo "Edward" A. Roggero, 86, of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at HealthPark Medical Center in Fort Myers.
Born on November 24, 1939, in La Plata, Argentina, Edward's life was a remarkable journey defined by hard work, adventure, devotion to family, and pride in his adopted country. At the age of 16, he immigrated to the United States, where he embraced new opportunities and ultimately became a proud American citizen—an accomplishment he cherished throughout his life.
Edward made Southwest Florida his home in 1973 and remained a resident of the Fort Myers area for more than five decades. He built a life centered on family, community, and the home and property he lovingly maintained and enjoyed for over 50 years.
As an international airline pilot, Edward spent his career doing what he loved most—flying. He relished the opportunity to travel internationally and took great pride in the skill, responsibility, and freedom that came with aviation. His passion for flying remained one of the defining joys of his life.
Perhaps Edward's greatest accomplishment was the family he and his beloved wife, Constance Anne "Conni" (Ammon) Roggero, built together. Their love story began in a memorable and lighthearted way. While working as a potato bagger at Food Fair, Edward was smitten with Conni, who worked at the drug counter there. Determined to get her attention, he slid a potato across the floor and playfully claimed it was a rat. The gesture worked, sparking a marriage that would last just shy of 64 years at his passing.
Edward will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his adventurous spirit, his sense of humor, and his deep appreciation for the life he built in America. He treasured time spent with those he loved and took immense pride in watching his family grow through the generations.
He is survived by his loving wife, Constance Anne (Ammon) Roggero; his children, Eddie (Sandy) Roggero of Cape Coral, Florida, Tracie (Kevin) Burress of Fort Myers, Florida, and Keri (William) Milo of Tampa, Florida; his brother, Carlos (Linda) Roggero; his six grandchildren, Kelsey, Connor, Chase, Shay, Logan, and Paisley; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Makenna.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Luttrell.
Edward's family will forever cherish the memories of his love, laughter, and adventurous spirit. His legacy will live on through the family he adored and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey.
