Edward “Ted” Bischoff, Jr., 81, a resident of Sanibel, FL, formerly of St. Louis, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018.Beloved husband of the late Ann; loving father of Peggy (Ned) Purtell of Milwaukee, WI, Marion MacNeil of Santa Barbara, CA and Liza (Mike) Caputo of Seattle, WA; caring step-father to Linda Menard of St. Louis, MO; cherished brother of Marion Black (Van-Lear, lll) of St. Louis, MO; proud grandfather of eight grandchildren: Carolyn, Elizabeth, Eddie, Penn, Grace, Charlie, Izzy and Marina. Further survived by other relatives and dear friends.Ted was a graduate of St. Louis Country Day School in 1955 and received his BA from Colgate University. Following graduation, Ted served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He returned to St. Louis and began a long career in financial planning and real estate, owning Alice Blake Realtors. Answering a higher calling he became an ordained minister and within this ministry he found his greatest joy. Ted was a competitive athlete, an avid tennis player, traveler and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.A Service Celebrating both Ted and Ann Bischoff will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Sanibel Community Church, 1740 Periwinkle Way Sanibel, FL 33957.In lieu of flowers, Ted’s request was for donations to be made to the charity of your choice.Arrangements for final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
