Edward E. Conover, 64, of Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Brigantine, NJ. The always ready for good laughs, ever-entertaining story-teller, marine constructor, concrete finisher, casino builder, firewood exploiter, dead battery jumper, water fowl, bar none-aficionado, superlative asset protector, companion, friend and beloved husband of 34 years to Domenica “Mimma” Conover (nee Ingegneri), departed this realm Sunday, January 28, 2018.He was the son of the late Edward and Mildred Conover and father to Edward “Elvis” Conover of Fort Myers, FL and Sandra Conover Chafe (Jeffrey) of Brigantine, NJ; brother to Barbara Doherty of Franklinville, NJ, Pat Clement (John) of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, James Conover of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Marie Burroughs of Manahawkin, NJ and uncle to nephews and nieces dear to him.Never one to shy away from expressing his opinion, Ed always made a mark upon all of those who encountered him, some of those who befriended him, and a few of those who befuddled him. He was an avid Estero Bay/Sanibel kayaker, Harley-Davidson biker, Canadian province traveler, Brigantine Beach Patrol Lifeguard, expert bar-b-que-er and fun-times coordinator. Ed loved to make others laugh, offer a helping hand and a cold beer. Ed firmly believed in tried and true hard work, straight-talk, peanut butter and jelly, meat-n-potatoes, American muscle cars, Clint Eastwood westerns and no frills, no excuses living and loving life and all it has to offer.Ed’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all those friends, family and co-workers and household staff who offered assistance in thought, deed and prayer during his valiant journey.In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory can be made to Hope Hospice: www.hopehospice.org.Services will be private and under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.
