Edward Joseph Fennessey's Obituary
Edward Fennessey, born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, passed away on August 24, 2022, just shy of this 90th birthday.
He was very proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War and was hit by a bomb in 1952, becoming permanently disabled. This earned him a Purple Heart Medal, a Letter of Commendation with United Nations Service Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Combat Valor Medal.
Ed grew up as the youngest of 4 children. He survived his sister, Agnes and leaves behind sisters Anne and Mary.
He was survived by his first wife Ruth, whom he lived with in Braintree, MA and raised 4 children-Terrance, Donna, Edward, and Gary. He also had 6 loving grandchildren.
Ed worked as a Superintendent for the United States Postal Service in Chelsea, MA, retiring at the age of 58. He retired to Florida with his second wife, Marjorie in 2001. He was loved by her children Robin, Kelli, Sandra, and Howard. Also, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
He leaves behind his beloved third wife, Marion, whom he shared the last 18 years with, as well as her children Jamie, Ernest, and Marlene. Also, their 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Ed loved his family deeply and would make sure to call or text them daily. He also enjoyed following them, as well as friends, on Facebook. He loved to build birdhouses, play golf, travel, help neighbors, but loved his family most of all.
