Edward Michael Flannery's Obituary
Flannery, Edward Michael known as “Mike” or “Flanman”, son of Edward and Theresa (nee McDevitt), passed away peacefully on August 19, 2018, at the age of 69 years. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Eleanor (nee McIntyre); his children, Christine (Dave), Katherine, and Brendan; grandchildren, Kyri, Kyle, Tierna, and Ephram; and siblings, Theresa, Sharon, and Tom (dec’d), many aunts, cousins and his dog, Justice. He was fortunate to have made lifelong friendships with Henner, Kerns (dec’d), Metzer, Needle, and Woods.Born and raised in Philadelphia and recent transplant to Cape Coral, FL, Mike proudly attended “The Prep” and St. Joseph’s College. As a lawyer, he practiced mostly in Philadelphia’s Family Court’s Dependency and Delinquency branches.Flanman was a phanatic about baseball. He visited every major league baseball stadium and many minor leagues stadiums with a baseball hat from each to prove it. He was a Philadelphia Eagles fan and witnessed their first Super Bowl win! He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to spin a tale.Flanman will be cremated in FL and returned home to Philadelphia to be buried with his parents and brother.
