Dear Diane, Maralyn, Kim, Robert, Kelly, Keith, Kenny and other relatives. This memory comes from one who knew Jim briefly at Kodak and the U of R in the 70's but has always kept those memories close. Jim taught the capstone class for all MBA students – several sections for both full and part-time students – I was one of his "PT" students. His wit, intelligence and "real knowledge" made the class one that everyone looked forward to attending. The best memory was the all class party at which prizes were awarded for the teams that had won the all class business competition. Each student had contributed $1.00, a total of well over $140. The winning team (teams consisted of six or seven members) won the pot. Jim brought a $100 dollar bill an a couple of $20's and expected us to be able to split it on the spot. Also at that party, he and I played Euchre against the two full time students who were the U of R campus champions. We caught them cheating (trumping and then burying the hole card of the suit previously trumped after winning the point). The commotion brought the whole party watching over our shoulders. So we did the only appropriate thing – we began cheating on them using the same technique. They never caught on! His memory lives in the thoughts of students of that class.John D Foote, class of '75
