Edward Theodore Howard's Obituary
Edward Theodore Howard, Jr. passed away after a lengthy illness on July 10th, 2015 at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida. He kept his sense of humor and optimism till the end.He is survived by his wife Carolyn Howard of Ft. Myers, FL, daughter Pamela Halaschak and her husband Christopher of Naples, FL. Grandchildren, Adam Bartz and his wife Ana of Naples, FL, Amanda Bartz of Denver, CO, Zachary Halaschak and Kelsy Halaschak of Marco Island, FL.Edward was born in New Orleans, LA on March 10th, 1930. As a young boy, during the depression he supplemented his family income by working shining shoes in the French Quarter for nickels and dimes. At the age of 17, he joined the Air Force, even though he was underage. He spent his service time in Bermuda. After his military service, he moved to Alton, IL and met Carolyn, his wife of 56 years. He worked at Laclede Steel Mill where he retired after 30 plus years. After moving to Florida, he worked for the Lee County School System for several years at Gateway Elementary in Fort Myers, FL earning second retirement. He enjoyed being around family and friends, watching Dolphins Football on Sundays, fishing and boating, golfing and other Florida outdoor activities.As a beloved husband, father, brother and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew hime well.Funeral Services with Honors 10am Tuesday, July 14, 3015 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, FL.
