Edward John Kocik's Obituary
Edward John Kocik of Fort Myers, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017. He was born December 15, 1928 in Binghamton, NY to Helen (Glovicska) and John Kocik. He lived in Fort Myers from 1962 – 1992 before moving to North Carolina. In 2009, he moved back to Fort Myers. Edward was a World War II Veteran in the Navy and was the first Fire Chief for the City of Cape Coral, Florida and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Mr. Kocik is survived by his children: Eileen O’Reilly (husband, Patrick) of Ocala, Christine Olsen (husband, Thomas Dielen) of Lake Placid, Kurt Kocik (wife, Stephanie) of Odessa and Dale Kocik of Fort Myers; his grandchildren: Cari, Kelley, Robert, Kaley, Conner and Brendan and his great grandchildren: Chanel and Trace. Sadly, he was predeceased by his wife Alice Ann (Jurik) Kocik who passed away in 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
