Edward Frederick Menninger's Obituary
Edward Frederick Menninger, 93, of Fort Myers, FL passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. He was born December 23, 1927 in Detroit, MI to the late Edward and Gertrude Lark Menninger. Ed had a rich Detroit history. He received a plaque for rescuing a drowning child from the Detroit River in July 1963. He was an Advertising Public Relations Director for GTE Valeron. He was named ADMAN of the year by the TF "Till Forbidden" Advertising Organization.
Several boating clubs in Michigan can claim him as past commodore. Ed received many awards too numerous to mention. Sgt. Menninger served his beloved country from 1950-1952 in Germany. Ed, along with wife Beatrice, was a member of the German American Club of Cape Coral for many years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beatrice in 2017.
Ed is survived by his two nieces, Suzanne Haynes and Mary Beth Ginter; one nephew, John E. Ginter; as well as many great nieces, nephews and friends.
