He retired from Montgomery Ward Company in Wheaton, Maryland in 1971.He was a gifted musician able to play any instrument he picked up. He could design, build and fix just about anything. He was always happy to help people with their home & garden projects. He loved his cigarettes and cigars and truly enjoyed them for over 60 years. Sadly, COPD was the result and he battled this disease for the past 12 years. His last advice to all who smoke was to stop – Now. He was an amazingly tough man and he was a fighter to the very end.His passing will leave a void in our family that will never be filled. We take comfort in knowing that he is with our dear Mother now. We are so grateful to have had the two of them and the overwhelming love that they gave to our family, as our parents, our Nana and our Papaw. The strong bond that unites our family will enable us to go on without them, until it is our time to join them for Eternity.A private service will be held in the near future.
