Edward Henry Richards, 90, previously resided in Iowa, Minnesota and Ohio was a resident of Cape Coral since 1977, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born on January 4, 1928 in Oelwein, IA to Ned and Germaine Richards, now deceased.An Army Veteran, he served in Germany both during and after World War II. Upon discharge from the Army he attended American University, later served as Vice President of General Mills Corporation, founded Starlite Pools of Cape Coral and was a Founding Member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Cape Coral, FL.Edward is survived by his three children, Michele Blake (Donald) of Cape Coral, FL, Michael Richards of Longwood, FL and Marcia Greene (Robert) of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Donald Richards (Marge) of Sun City, AZ; one sister, Violet Miller of Cedar Rapids, IA; 5 grandchildren, Donald, David, Daniel, Stacy and Robert; as well as seven great grandchildren, Ava, Alexa, Dylan, Ainsley, Gavin, Jayden and Ellie.He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; sister, Belle; and two grandsons, Steven and Michael, II.A Memorial Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 SW 6th Avenue, Cape Coral, FL with Rev. Charles J.
