Edwin "Bud" Wallis' Obituary
Edwin (Bud) B. Wallis, Jr., 89, entered into eternal rest November 5, 2015, at Hope Hospice, Lehigh Acres, FL. For 67 years he was the loving husband of Twila Klinger Wallis who passed away August 7, 2011. Bud was born September 6, 1926, in Liverpool to the late Edwin B. Sr. and Mildred (Zaring) Wallis. He and Twila retired to Florida in 1988. He was a 1944 graduate of Liverpool High School; partner with his father, brother and brother-in-law in the hatchery/poultry and orchard business of Edwin B. Wallis & Sons and Millersburg Ferry and Campsites; two-term Republican Perry County Commissioner; Bureau Director of Plant Industry, PA Dept. of Agriculture. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran, Liverpool and Redeemer Lutheran, Ft. Myers; served on Board of Directors of Lee County Civic Center; veteran of U.S. Army Air Corp; Eagle Scout and Boy Scout leader for 30 years; member of Poultry Federation; Liverpool Lions Club; Past Master of Lafayette Masonic Lodge No. 194, Selinsgrove; Scottish Rite Shrine, Harrisburg; Araba Shrine, Ft. Myers. Bud is survived by daughter Jill of Newport, daughter Rebecca, son Craig and wife Del, all of Lehigh Acres, FL; grandchildren Pam, Lori, Eric, Craig, Daniel; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Kyle, Kaleb, Leann, Alex; great-great grandchildren Brayden, Brianna; sisters Marian of Liverpool, Joan (husband David) of Selinsgrove; brothers Robert of Liverpool, Bruce (wife Ruthann)of Lewisburg. He was preceded in death by grandson Kyle Weller. Bud loved sports, especially golf, and was legendary on his home golf course. He and Twila enjoyed cruises with Craig and Del, playing cards, and family get-togethers. He was a wonderful man filled with civic pride and devotion to family, friends and community. A service will be held at 3 p.m. November 22, visitation at 2 p.m., Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Liverpool.
