Elaine Caroline Boesen-Wedemeier's Obituary
Elaine Caroline Boesen-Wedemeier, a former Silver Cliff, Wisconsin resident, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at home in Fort Myers, Florida. Elaine was born February 10, 1923 in Mosinee, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Mathilda (Raddatz) Gruen. She married Clayton Boesen and owned and operated Boesen’s Tavern for many years. She later moved to Florida where she met and married Robert Wedemeier. Both of her husbands preceded her in death and she was the last surviving of five siblings.Elaine enjoyed bingo, crocheting and knitting. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her great wit. She was always open and honest with people and had an abiding love for all animals.Surviving are her children, Clayton Richard “Dick” Boesen (Judy) of Beloit, Wisconsin, William Harvey “Bill” Boesen (Carol) of Sobieski, Wisconsin and Michael Robert “Mick” Boesen (Cherie) of Reston, Virginia. She enjoyed her four grandchildren, Rick, Andy, Heidi, Eric and 5 great-grandchildren.A Spring memorial service for Elaine will be held in Wisconsin.Elaine will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
