Elinore M. Keebler's Obituary
Elinore M. Keebler, 80, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014. The daughter of the late William Christian Keehnle and late Elinore Hayes Keehnle, she was born November 24, 1933, in Philadelphia and moved to Atlantic City NJ, where she attended St. Nicholas grade school and Holy Spirit High School. She graduated as an RN from Misericordia Nursing School in Pennsylvania and later received a BA in health education. Elinore retired from the Weymouth Township Board of Education. She married her childhood sweetheart, John (Jack) Keebler Jr., on June 18, 1955. They settled in Absecon, NJ, where they raised their family, and then moved to Lee County, FL, in 2003. She attended St. Therese and St. Andrew Catholic churches in Cape Coral and was a member of Sisters of Mercy, the Irish American Cultural Society and Elizabeth Ann Seton Comfort Ministry and a founding member of Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Absecon. Elinore enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, writing and anything Irish; she was known as our lil’ leprechaun. Elinore leaves to cherish her memory, and will be greatly missed by, her children John J. Keebler III (Wendy) of Beverly Hills, MI; Daniel P. Keebler (Laura) of Absecon; Judith Keebler-Beretta of New York; Connie Wassmann (Patrick) of Cape Coral; grandchildren Branson, John, Miranda, Annmarie, George, Nicole, Katie, Lauren, Danielle, Patrick Jr., Daniel Jr., Michael; and great-grandchildren Ariana, Tiara and Ayden. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 4, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Absecon, with Christian burial following at New Cathedral Cemetery in Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of Mercy at www.sistersofmercy.org or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Absecon.
