Elizabeth Betty Griffin's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” Griffin of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday, February 28, 2017. She was 94. Betty was born Monday, October 9, 1922 in Phoenix, Arizona; the beautiful daughter of the late Hugh Franklin and Charlotte Goodwin Wilson. Growing up in Missouri, Betty attended school in a one room schoolhouse. She rode her horse to get to and from school; all the way through the completion of high school. Betty loved to read and shared her passion for reading with her daughters and grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress and made several of her own clothes. Betty and her husband Bob were former members of The Forest Country Club, Fort Myers, Florida. She was also an avid bridge player. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a dear sister and beloved grandmother who will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 68+ years, Robert G. “Bob” Griffin (January 25, 2011) and her sister, Charlotte Eleanor Wilson Madison. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Martha Pertuz and Madeline Griffin, both of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves behind four grandchildren; David Pertuz of Chicago, Illinois, Amy Pertuz of Ridgway, Colorado, Megan Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia and Kelly Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia. Betty is also survived by two nieces; Charlotte Madison Lollis and Melissa Madison Fowler. Immediate funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
