Elizabeth H. "Libby" Kline's Obituary
Elizabeth H. Kline, 99, of Fort Myers, passed away Monday February 27, 2012.?á She was the daughter of William and Margaret Harris, born April 18, 1912 in Wilmington, Delaware.?á She graduated from the University of Delaware in 1934 and moved to Dayton, Ohio where she worked in the Girl Scout office as the Field Director of Girl Scouts of the Dayton Area.?á She led many Girl Scout Troops through the years.?á She married Hubert S. Kline in 1939 and they raised their five children in Dayton.?á She was active in her church, serving as an elder and a deacon, and she was active in their mission outreach ministry, participating in many mission trips. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á After living over 50 years in Dayton, Hubert and Libby moved to Fort Myers.?á They enjoyed their church activities here, travel, her family and a daily swim.?á Libby mentored children at Edison Park Elementary School and for many years, was a volunteer at the Harry Chapin Food Bank. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Hubert, in 1999, a daughter, Margaret Kissell in 1996 and her brother, Daniel, in 2006.?á She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Katharine K. Parkinson (David) of Fort Myers, William H. Kline (Rita) of Reynoldsburg, OH, Phyllis A. Chappo of LaGrange, OH and Judith L. Kline of Fort Myers.?á Also, 13 grandchildren: Stephen Parkinson, Richard Parkinson, James Parkinson, Nancy Dreisbach, Jeffrey Kissell, Deborah Brown, Katherine Kline, James Kline, Carolyn Chappo, Barbara Doremus, Thomas Chappo, Scott Martin and Tri Pham; her 15 great grandchildren: Michaela, Nathan, Matthew, David, Jeffrey, Daniel, Sarah, Joshua, Gavin, Luke, Zachary, Ellie, Gavin, Gabrielle and William and one great, great grandson, Leo. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Elizabeth was an active member of New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 3825 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33901, where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on April 18, 2012.?á In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the building fund of the church. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.?á Online condolences may be made at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
