Ellen Holland's Obituary
Ellen Holland, age 85, of Fort Myers, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on June 29, 2025. She was born July 7, 1939, in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late Henry J. and Jean McFall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Timothy Holland. She was also preceded in death by her brothers James T. McFall, Henry J. McFall, Jr., William McFall, Francis R. McFall, George McFall, and sister Elizabeth E. Kimsey.
Ellen is survived by her five children: Mark A. Barboza (Andrea), Antone P. Barboza, Jr. (Michelle), Michael Barboza (Michelle), Kenneth Delehanty, and Holly Ann Bowers (Joseph). She is survived by her beloved big sister Jean Pfennigwerth, of Pittsburgh, PA, her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Ellen was a lifelong lover of music, a great cook and an avid reader and home was always filled with great sounds, like Barbra Streisand or Patsy Cline and the aroma of something delicious. She passed her passion, and talent, for these on to all of her children. Most of all she passed on a feeling of love and warmth and comfort to her children.
We are deeply saddened at the passing of our beloved Mother but her faith in Jesus has given her, and us, comfort. We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. While sad, we are also rejoicing that she is reunited with her husband and all the loved ones who have gone before.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on July 26, 2025, at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of Memories where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Joseph T. Holland, where they will be Together Forever.
