Ellen West Roan's Obituary
Ellen West Roan, 96, of Fort Myers died April 22, 2026 in Fort Myers. Born 1929 to Vendolph West and Maude Elise (Willis) Roan, Ellen is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
A graduate of Fort Myers High School, and attended Florida State University, she married James Roan in 1953, and they returned to 1977 where she lived until her passing.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Roan and wife Linda, and Robert Roan, daughter-in-law Debi (Cross) Roan, five grandchildren, Elisa, John, Robert James, Erin, and Christopher, and six great-grandchildren, Savanah, Kennedi, Bentlie, Addison, Parker, and Alexandra. Ellen is reunited with her husband of 50 years, James Roan, two sisters, Joan Simandl and Gale Caldwell, two sons, James Michael Roan and Ronald Roan, and daughter-in-law Kimberly Roan.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
