Elmer Richard Viox's Obituary
Elmer Richard Viox, of Estero, FL and formerly of Morrow, OH, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2015 in Fort Myers, FL with his family by his side. He was 82. Elmer was born September 10, 1933 in Lockland, OH to the late Elmer John and Catherine (Schultz) Viox. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He lived his life setting an example of honorability and integrity to all who knew him, raising 8 children with his wife Alma Jean. He began working in the Cincinnati area as a construction foreman, later working with his brother, Bill, building ponds and eventually owning his own excavating business in the Warren County area. His favorite things in life were his family, inventing and tinkering with things, and solving problems that were unsolvable to others. He loved being on the water and he and his wife, Alma Jean, spent as much time as they could in Florida, eventually retiring to the Ft. Myers area. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jean and two brothers, Bill Viox and John Viox. Elmer is survived by his eight children, Rick (Janice) Viox, Mike (Debbie) Viox, Jerry (Kila) Viox, Patty Viox, Jackie (Bob) Witt, Lori (David) Ritchie, Jeff (Janice) Viox and Darren (Shelley) Viox; his two brothers, Paul (Norma) Viox and Jerry Viox, 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home, 513 West Pike Street, Morrow, OH 45152. Graveside services will be 12pm Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, OH. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is serving the family in Fort Myers.
