Emil A. Lore's Obituary
Emil A. Lore (Bob) was called home to our Lord on Thursday October 22,2020.
He was born October 19,1926 to Joseph and Teresa Lore. Bob to all who knew him, was a unique, warm and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew him.
He married the love of his life, Elvira (Vivian) Lore on August 24,1947 in Brooklyn New York. Together they had two wonderful children, Theresa(Terry) and Joseph. Vivian Lore preceded him in death on July 3 2015.
Bob was the true leader, patriarch of his family all gathered around him for any and all occasions. He was well loved by a large family. Theresa Slobodzian married to John Slobodzian, who preceded Bob in death Feb 13, 1989, gave him four grandchildren, John Robert Slobodzian married to Michelle Slobodzian, Todd Andrew Slobodzian, who preceded him in death on December 17,2018, married to Emily. Also Amy Slobodzian and Kristin Slobodzian Childs married to Ronald J Childs. Joseph Lore married to Dolores Huber Lore gave him two children, Eric and Jillian Lore.
Theresa's four children produced 9 great grandchildren, Alexis, John and Jacqueline Slobodzian, Joseph, Chloe, Lucius and Charlotte Slobodzian and Hailey and Destin Slobodzian.
Joseph's two children gave him 3 great grandchildren, Kiersten and Riley Lore and Rainer B Lore.
Bob served proudly in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1947. He took so much pride in this fact that he proudly attended the Honor Flight in Washington DC four years ago. And he wore his World War II hat proudly everywhere he went.
After serving in the Army he continued his service by giving 20 years of his life to the Garden City Police Department in New York. You could say his quest in life was to serve his community. As such up until one month before he was diagnosed with cancer, Bob was a constant employee at a local food pantry. He bagged, boxed and distributed food to the underprivileged at the Goodwill Food Pantry in Fort Myers Fl.
He loved to travel and this is evidenced by the fact that he and loving wife Vivian went on 25 cruises as well as tours of Italy, France and Spain. He took great pleasure in watching the successes of his children and grandchildren.
However his greatest passion was in watching his people attain greatness in their lives and the fact that his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren have all continued their educations gave him the most pleasure.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2020 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral home with entombment to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
