Eric Anthony Day's Obituary
With profound sorrow and unending love, the family of Eric Day announces his transition from this life after a fearless battle with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Eric fought like a true soldier, steadfast, courageous, and unbreakable even in the face of overwhelming odds. He held on with a strength that inspired all who loved him.
The name Eric means “eternal ruler” or “ever-powerful.” He lived up to that meaning every single day. His presence was strong, his mind sharp, and his spirit unmatched. Though his earthly body suffered, his spirit never bowed. Now he is finally free, released from the heavy chains of illness, restored, and carried into a peace no pain can touch.
Eric was a devoted father to his beautiful daughter Emirah, the heartbeat of his world and the reason he continued fighting with such determination. He was the beloved son of Jaziah Mayas and Richard Day, and a cherished brother to Victoria Day, Darren Day, Javis Day, Alexsis Day, and Christina Day.
He is lovingly remembered by his grandmother Marie Millery; his aunts Rosita “Sash” James, Shella Mayas, Darling Mayas, and Wilda Millery; his cousins Wilgens Philip, Spencer Philip, and countless other cousins, relatives, and friends who were blessed to share in his life.
Eric valued loyalty above all else. It was one of his defining traits. If he loved you, he stood by you unwavering, solid, and true. His word was his bond, and his commitment to family was something you could always depend on.
A true jack of all trades, Eric’s gifts were endless. He was an exceptional and creative tattoo artist, a business major with a brilliant mind, and someone with extraordinary knowledge of weaponry, able to build from scratch what most people could not even identify. Intelligent, talented, and hands-on, Eric could do anything he set his mind to.
He was a family man in every sense, showing up, helping out, stepping in, and giving of himself without hesitation. His humor, his strength, his protectiveness, and his ability to bring comfort simply by being present will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing that Eric is no longer suffering. He is free. His spirit is lifted. His legacy of love, loyalty, courage, and determination will live on forever through his daughter and through every life he touched.
The family invites all who loved Eric to join in celebrating his remarkable life. Service details will be shared soon.
May he rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the strength, honor, and freedom he carried throughout his life.
Rest EZ, Soldier
