I met Eric Leiser first through his books and then in person through United Fly Tyers. Had the pleasure of salmon fishing with him on th Miramichi River for a week. He was a true gentleman, always happy to talk about fishing, fly tying and his life outdoors. Was saddened to hear about his passing. Condolences to his family on their loss.
I spent many hours at Erick’s fly shop in Cold Spring and working with him on T.U. issues. It was great to have him as a friend. His books were wonderful and get better everytime I reread them. My thoughts go out to his family an his wife June.
Always a great and gentle man who helped me with my writing career, and whose company I enjoyed immensely. Hope those heavenly flounder are more abundant than those we didn’t catch in Quincy Bay. You made the life of this fly fisherman more joyous!
RIP Eric. You were indeed a true gentleman and I enjoyed spending a few days with you in Pennsylvania. I used a fly you gave me at the Junction pool (on the Beamoc) and caught 5 or 6 fish until the fly was destroyed. Just magic. Thanks for the good memories.
