dear kathy,camron and eon i really don't know the words to express my sorrow for you. i'll call you from time to time and if there is anything i can do tell me.although there was an age difference between us eric was my best friend and i'm going to miss him terribly.

Kathy,Ian, and Cam I am so so sorry to here about Eric. Eric was a true friend and shipmate. When ever I walked onto the boat there would be Eric with a cigar hanging out of his mouth with that shit eating grin on his face, that would bring a smile to anyone. His humor kept us going all day long. A 24 hour watch would seen a lot less with Eric there. He always stood up for his men, which drove some captains nuts. But on deck we loved him. He was a great person and will be missed by me and his crew mates. Spongebob Hutchinson
Kathy, Ian and Cam, Please accept my deepest condolences. I spent many years working both alongside and as a relief partner with Eric. His sudden passing came as a shock to me, as I'm sure it did for many others. Your family has been in our thoughts and prayers everyday since. If there is anything you need that we can help you with please let us know. Kathy, I remember the day you told me you were moving to Florida and how happy you were. As hard as it may be to do, please try to remember those happy feelings as I'm sure they will help you get through this. In closing, There may be solace in knowing that one day the man upstairs will call each and every one of us home and that this is another test along the way. Eric was a truly unique and talented man, one of the best! Those of us fortunate enough to be in his circle of friends & family are well aware of his dedication and the love he had for his loved ones.
