Erie Vianna Grimsley's Obituary
Erie Vianna Grimsley, age 90, of Alva, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at Hope Hospice.
Born on September 3, 1935, in Bowling Green, Florida, Erie a/k/a Vianna (Vi) was the beloved daughter of the late Cleon and Wanna (Moye) Cooper. She was raised in Hardee County and spent much of her life in Wauchula before making Alva her home, where she resided for the past 30 years.
She devoted many years of service as a secretary at Wauchula State Bank. She also faithfully served at First Baptist Church of Wauchula, where she was not only a devoted member but also worked as the church secretary, a role she cherished and performed with dedication.
A woman who loved the outdoors, she found great joy in fishing, hunting, swimming and dancing. Her adventurous spirit remained strong throughout her life, most notably when she proudly shot a deer at the age of 85, a story often shared with admiration by family and friends.
Above all, she treasured her family. She deeply loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and faith. She would read her Bible several times a day and pray for her family and friends daily.
She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, gentle heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of love and perseverance will live on in the many lives she touched.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Vicki (Tony) Alvarez of Alva, Florida; Her Granddaughter Shasta (Stephen) Reeves of North Fort Myers, Florida; Cody (Leah) Alvarez of Ft. Denaud, Florida; Her Great-Grandchildren Willow Reeves, Gunner Reeves, Harrison Reeves, Harper Alvarez, Maverick Reeves, Walker Reeves, Stetson Reeves, Drea Reeves, Alexander Reeves.
Her funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, Florida 33907. A reception to continue the celebration of her life will follow.
