Erma Gene Hazell's Obituary
Erma Gene Hazell, 95, of Fort Myers, died Aug 1, 2014 at Windsor of Cape Coral. A Life Celebration will be held 6:00 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907. Inurnment will be at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. Memorials: Hope Hospice at Health Park Circle. Erma was born July 29, 1919, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Edward and Cecilia (Mayer) Wunderlich. She married her high school sweetheart, Gordon Hazell and they both graduated from Kansas State University. He preceded her in death. Erma was primarily a homemaker and for a few years had served as a secretary and book keeper for her husband, Gordon’s, sea wall construction business. She was a lifelong member of her Tri Delta Soriety. She was a wonderful painter an avid reader and loved to play bridge. Erma leaves behind her two daughters Holly Hazell of Alva, FL, Jan Hazell of Fort Myers; sister, Frances Brown of Fairfax, VA; two grandchildren, Neali Staley and Robert G. DeSantis; three great-grandchildren Trevor, Kasey and Bruer Staley.Arrangements are being conducted by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL, (239) 936-0555.
