Ernestine May Ostensen's Obituary
Ernestine May Ostensen, 75, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 while under Hospice care following some recent health challenges. She was born in Castine, Maine on April 18, 1949 and was the beautiful daughter to Ethel (Johnson) and Joseph Pekora.
After graduating with a degree in Psychology, she started her career as relator in Danbury Connecticut. She moved her family to Fort Myers, FL in 1994 where she was an active member of Gateway Trinity Church. She took special joy in singing and was part of the church choir for many years. She was also part of the Beta Sigma Phi where she adored her friendships.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children Jason M. Ostensen and Kelly Vasquez; Kelly's husband, Benjamin, and their three children, Arianna, Jasmine and Bryce; her two grandchildren Niko and Maya; and her sister Stanifa Elliott. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Toralv Ostensen who passed in 2009.
A Celebration of Life for Ernestine is scheduled from 1:00 - 4:00 PM on October 12, 2024. These ceremonies will take place at the Vasquez residence. For more information, please contact 239-292-5799.
