Esther E. Barnard, 93, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in Fort Myers, Florida.?á Mrs. Barnard was born in Franklinville, New York on November 24, 1917, a daughter of the late Clayton Searle and Mina Godfrey Searle.?á She was the widow of Harold A. Barnard. Esther was devoted to her family.?á Preceding her in death besides her parents and her husband were a daughter, Verna Rayls and 2 sisters and 2 brothers.?á She enjoyed crocheting and once made a Hobnail bedspread which took almost 5 years to complete.?á She was a member of the Morningstar Baptist Church in Fort Myers.?á She had been a resident here since 1958 coming from Cuba, NY a community in the southern tier area of New York State.?á She is survived by her daughter, Laura J. Freeman of Hawthorne, FL; a son-in-law, Gene Ryals of North Fort Myers, FL; her grandchildren, Mary Jo (Ed) Holscher of Lehigh Acres, FL, Jo Marie (Tim) Larrimore of St. James City, FL, Amanda (Kevin) Kerr of North Fort Myers, FL and Amy Ryals of North Fort Myers, FL; 4 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons and several great-great grandchildren.?á Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.?á The family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to services.
