Esther Robins' Obituary
Esther Robins, 83,?á of Fort Myers, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 after a short illness with her daughter by her side.?á On her last day on earth, she was surrounded by the people who love her. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Born Esther Leon in New York City, Esther was a proud graduate of the prestigious School of Industrial Art in New York City, now School of Art and Design.?á She married the love of her life, Walter in 1954 and in 1957, they moved to West Nyack, NY, where they would live in a wonderful, close-knit community for the next 33 years forming friendships that would last a lifetime before retiring to Fort Myers.?á Besides being a doting mother, she also adored the neighborhood children and they loved her dearly.?á She enjoyed many activities and volunteered for many causes through the years but sometimes just liked sitting at home doing crossword puzzles.?á She and Walter enjoyed spending time together and traveling to various Army reunions throughout the country. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á She was well known for her compassion, generosity, cheerfulness, smile, sense of humor and other attributes.?á She loved music and art and animals, especially small dogs. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Mrs. Robins leaves behind her daughter, Marcia Robins, her granddaughter, Kelsie and her sister-in-law, Sarah Leon, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends that she has known for over 50 years.?á She will be missed by all.?á She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1997. ?á?á?á?á ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.?á ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery with burial to follow. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.?á Online condolences may be made at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
